Capital Health Care is committed to improving the quality of life of all Australians. With this in mind our business is working to encourage all Australians to enjoy regular physical activity and to monitor their health. Our aim is to provide opportunities for your employees to participate in activities which promote, protect and maintain health.

Health management programs run from the workplace have been shown to be a highly effective place to implement and initiate health and fitness programs, achieving both high participation and adherence to program initiatives. Currently we conduct Health Management Seminars, Back Power programs and Early Detection Programs for the Australian Defence Headquarters in Canberra and many other government departments.

Exercise and health programs can be designed to develop one or more aspects of physical fitness, eg. fitness for Cardiovascular (Heart/Lung) Efficiency, for Strength, Speed, Flexibility, Muscle Endurance, Power, Agility and Balance. The most important will depend on the need of the individual and the needs of your organisation.

Heart attack and stroke cause most deaths in Australia with over 1,000 people dying every week, and thousands more affected. One in five of these deaths are people below the age of seventy. Basic testing such as blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes testing can save and has saved many lives, if you require references from organisations please call.

Employees make up a vital part of your workplace, and for this reason it makes good sense to care for and educate your staff in health management.

Prevention is always better and cheaper than a cure.

Services

Early Detection Program / Flu Vaccinations

The Early Detection Program is conducted by testing officers or nurses. Capital Health Care currently employees a number of nurses and testing officers. Testing Officers carry a photocopy of their qualifications they have gained through varying degrees of experience. Capital Health Care Testing Officers have a minimum of four years experience in anatomy and physiology and have completed counselling courses in nutrition and are aware of all procedures related to hygiene. Each Officer or Nurse operates within strict testing guidelines and adhere to our testing procedures. Capital Health Care also runs our own familiarization courses to make sure the testing procedure is carried out in the same manner for each individual being tested.

The testing involved within the Early Detection Program consists of a Cholesterol Test, a Diabetes Test and a Blood Pressure Test.  The program is designed to detect problems early or before they become life-threatening.  In every case where results fall too high referrals are given to Diabetes Australia for further tests relating to diabetes, or the individual’s own general practitioner for blood pressure or cholesterol-related problems, so a full pathology tests may be conducted. Capital Health Care operates has its own hygiene procedure and will state them to each individual being tested this includes;

The wearing of latex gloves
Identification of Sterile Lancets
Provision of Medical Swabs

If you are in any doubt of the service being provided or the qualifications held by the Testing Officer or Nurse.
